RIGHT hand drive or left hand drive? But one car a neat solution for this problem. It has the steering wheel in the middle, with two passengers seats on either side. It is the McLaren F1.

McLaren Automotive, commonly termed McLaren, is a acclaimed to be one of the best companies that produce high performance cars. The company was established in 1989 by Ron Dennis in woking, Surrey, United Kingdom. From then on, the company has been modeling world renowned sports cars taking after Formula One technology.

The McLaren F1 is the company’s pilot car created in 1992. It is  a coupe with three seats, the driver in the middle. Gordon Murray designed the car, while BMW built its engine, a 6,064 cc V12 unit capable of producing 627 bhp.

McLaren F1 is the most powerful supercar produced by  McLaren between the year 1994-1998, from the 100 cars: 65 are street versions, 5 are LMs (which was built to honor victory at Le Mans in 1995) and 3 are Gts (the road versions of the 1977 F1 GTR racing car) and 28 F1 GTR made for the roads.


The car has a top speed of 386 km/h or 240 mph and can reach a speed of 100 km/h in 3.2 second, 200 km/h in 6.7 seconds and 300 km/h in 30 seconds. The McLaren F1 was the fastest car in the world until Bugatti Veyron was introduced.

Only a very few people can look the other way when a flashy sports cars goes past on the road. They grab your attention with their sleek lines, mesmerizing colour schemes and almost musical exhaust notes.  A sports car may not be very practical, but ordinary cars cannot even  get close to their sheer appeal. Well, some so-called sports cars even  four doors, a la Porsche Panamera. These cars evoke a sense of exhilaration and a feeling of contentment. The adrenaline rushes when you  just see one, leave alone driving one. 
And if you have to ask the price, or even the fuel  consumption, just forget it. These  cars are not for the faint hearted and the ‘shallow pocketed’.
